Dance School
Public, Community Center
2018
The public school of music and dance is located in a bustling city center, which primary materials are stucco walls, Schüco curtain walls, and a metal roof. The school is organized around a central courtyard that acts as a communal gathering space and a source of natural light for the surrounding interiors. The courtyard enhances the sense of openness and connection to the outdoors, encouraging students and visitors to interact in a relaxed environment. The building’s orientation optimizes natural ventilation and daylighting. The school includes purpose-built dance studios with resilient sprung floors, acoustically treated music rooms, and a state-of-the-art concert hall. Each space is designed for optimal sound quality and user comfort. The use of warm wooden accents throughout the interior softens the industrial materials, adding warmth and a sense of belonging.
